The value of EUR 740 million Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games in business

An official report of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, said that it was worth 740m pounds to the Scottish economy.
He also believed Glasgow won 390m pounds. In the years 2007-14 2,100 jobs were created, on average, more than half of them in Glasgow.
The report said the Games were delivered on time and within budget.
He closed the biggest sporting event in Scotland instead enjoyed "high" of support and public participation.

In terms of tourism, Glasgow in 2014 attracted about 690 000 visitors.
The report shows that the infrastructure for high-performance sports have "clearly" be strengthened as a result of Glasgow and Scotland hosted the Games.
The range of sports that include benefits for swimming, diving, cycling, bowling, hockey and badminton.
That recent measures of physical activity in adults national demographic statistics to show the first increase for several years, is expected.
The report cautions, however, that "more data are needed to determine whether this is the beginning of a positive trend."
President sportscotland, Louise Martin, said: "In addition to profiling of sport in Scotland, a number of positive indicators suggest, it was also a great boost for the community and the country sports performance.
"The facilities for the community and the use of high performance, improved significantly throughout Scotland and we link these improved facilities and the growing number of trainers in schools and clubs in our communities and helps build capacity in the Scottish game."
The games have seen significant investment in Glasgow especially in the east of the city ,.
Deputy Chief Archie Graham Glasgow City Council, said: "We have more people who play sports, inspired by last summer, which is great to see.

"There is also a new home in the east of Glasgow and renovated station, new roads in the area, as well as shops and a doctor's office, so there is a great legacy."
Sports Minister Jamie Hepburn said: "From Glasgow fixed supply, the Scottish Government has been working with all partners to build a social, cultural and economic legacy that lasts throughout Scotland.
"In addition to providing the best ever Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014, he brought a lot of opportunities, and Scotland goes on."
VisitScotland said the Games had gone "a lasting legacy in the tourism industry event in the country's growth."
President Mike Cantlay said: "This year, the tourism industry in Scotland is based on the energy and enthusiasm of 2014, the use of starches such as food and drink and the quality of the visitors is experienced to take to Scotland to improve in the world come back and our reputation as a must-visit destination. "
