The home team wins Game 1 of the NBA playoff game seven, that team wins the series 85% of the time. The Clippers beat the San Antonio Spurs at Staples Center in Game 1 of the first round series 107-92 on Sunday.
Here's a statistic that the Clippers fans will not like it:
The Spurs lost their first playoff game three times in the year when they won the NBA championship.
Asked Clippers coach Doc Rivers said before practice Tuesday that he his players to talk about these statistics.
"I do not think I have to do, to be honest," Rivers said. "This is not the NCAA tournament you win a game, and you're off. You have to play anymore and are only prepared individually, so I do not think we need it. I'm sure you know. No matter, anyway ".
Jamal Crawford emphasized that the Clippers have Game 1 of the Golden State Warriors lost in the first round of the playoffs last season, but won the series.
"We have not done anything," Crawford said.
In Sunday's game, the Clippers led by as many as 20 points. They dominated the Spurs in the field, 51.3% to 36.6%, and three points, 55.6% to 30.3%. The Spurs also made 14 of 26 free throws, 53.8%.
During this victory Crawford to put this in perspective, he said it was important for the Clippers to make such statements in his first game.
"When you play at this level, it is something to do in the regular season, but if you are in the playoffs against the team of the time in the NBA and the defending champion, who sets the tone for how to go their Playoffs "Crawford said. "Obviously, this is a game, and each game has its own story, but for us it is a good start."
