Cesc Fabregas had reduced his ban for a ball over the head of Chris Brunt for 3-0 Premier League defeat of West Bromwich Albion on Monday from three games in a match.
Chelsea told a hearing of the Independent Regulatory Commission on Wednesday the suspension of three matches was overdone, and the appeal is admissible.
Brunt midfielder put the ball in frustration intensified as tempers between Chelsea striker Diego Costa and West Brom Gareth McAuley. Fabregas lost Brunt referee Mike Jones was able to meet and risked much prohibition.

Fabregas, whose Chelsea are champions of the Premier League, he should lose the Community Shield and the first league game of the next season, but now they are just sitting the last game of the season at home by Chelsea against Sunderland on Sunday.
Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho made the dismissal after the game and called it "strange". He said: "Where is the danger that the situation in which the aggression of the situation for the red card [actually] a friendly match?
"In my opinion, a top, a large and stable personality in control of the game, to go there, two or three words and it's done. It's a rare red card.
"The three-match ban for? Harsh? Sure, it's hard. Why explained? No need to explain."
Chelsea welcomed the ruling in a statement. "Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce that Cesc Fabregas serves a one-match ban after his red card in the Premier League match at West Brom on Monday," said the club.

"The standard sanction was therefore suspended for three games. But, after a hearing of the Independent Regulatory Commission today, termination of the club a three-game suspension excessive was a success. Fabregas is now only miss the last game of the season against Sunderland on Sunday and is for selection from the start of the campaign 2015/16 are available.
The FA made the following statement:
"The right to Chelsea as the suspension of three matches was overdone for Cesc Fabregas has been confirmed by a hearing of the independent regulatory commission.
"Fabregas was dismissed for violent conduct during the West Bromwich Albion FC against Chelsea FC fixing May 18
"The Regulatory Commission reduced the suspension of the Chelsea midfield player for a game to be served with immediate effect."
