Keighley Cougars Kingstone Press League One game in London Skolars was that evening, after the Welsh National Pumas Danny Jones suffered a heart attack abandoned.

Jones was injured in the last minute and it is believed that collapsed on the side of the field. The game at the New River Stadium was abandoned at halftime leading 12-6 with Keighley.

To read an explanation of rugby league: "The RFL can confirm Keighley Cougars player Danny Jones, he was taken to hospital and is in treatment.

"Ligue 1 game between London and Skolars Keighley Cougars was abandoned. Our best wishes are with Danny and his family at this time."

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We have called at 15.10 clock to an address in White Hart Lane.

"We have a number of resources, including the London Air Ambulance and two ambulances at the scene.

"The patient - a man - was in cardiac arrest.

"Considerable efforts were made to revive him, and he was taken by ambulance to the Royal Free Hospital, ambulance with air on board."
